Požega – Memorial complex in Gornja Dobrinja
You can download the GPX file HERE.
The memorial complex in Gornja Dobrinja is located 20 kilometers from Požega. Gornja Dobrinja is the birthplace of Prince Miloš Obrenović. It consists of Miloš’s endowments: church dedicated to the Holy Apostles Peter and Paul, built in 1822, with a brick bell tower, a wooden veranda with a memorial fountain and an impressive bronze monument, the work of sculptor Miroslav Protić, on a spacious plateau with an amphitheater and an access stone staircase.
The route is identical to the one to the mountain center of Divčibare in the first few kilometers, but this time follow the signs to the villages: Donja, Srednja, and Gornja Dobrinja. Immediately after the turn, a slightly more demanding climb awaits us. The road is also wide on this section, with an asphalt surface. As you approach Gornja Dobrinja and gain altitude, the views will gradually open up to the rolling Dobrinja fields and pastures. Upon entering the village, turn right at the elementary school (an information board is set up at the intersection) and after a hundred meters we reach the complex. If you still have the will and energy, you can continue driving along the main road for another 4 km, all the way to the pass below the Šiljkovica peak, where the border of 3 municipalities is located: Požega, Čačak and Gornji Milanovac. There are no bicycle signs on the route, but as you follow the main road, you will find your way easily. As always, we recommend downloading the .gpx file.
